Information on Counseling and FAQs

"What kind of people do you typically work with?"

My clients tend to be intelligent, responsible men and women who have done what they are "supposed" to do and find happiness eludes them. Many feel they aren't able to fully enjoy the rewards of their efforts at work or at home. Some just need a confidential place to talk over very personal concerns. They also realize that life is too short to be stuck in pain and unhappiness.

"What are your specialties?"

People describe their pain differently - they are "stressed out", "on edge a lot", "not feeling like myself anymore", "falling apart", "lashing out", "having a hard time dealing with...". Others use more clinical terms - depression, anxiety, irritability, trauma or addiction.

I specialize in helping my clients get a handle on unwanted emotions and behaviors. Clients report gaining relief, enjoying life more, having more satisfying relationships.

"Do you take my insurance?"

I take several forms of insurance directly and can work with most PPO's.  Because many people find insurance confusing, I would be happy to contact your insurance company for you myself and explain to you what your policy covers.  If you would like to use your insurance benefit, have your insurance card at hand when you call me.

However, you should know when you use insurance benefits, many eyes review the claims and other paperwork submitted by your therapist. Often, someone who works for the insurance company has the authority to set the parameters of your treatment. Due to these privacy concerns, many clients choose to pay directly for my services.

You have to decide which option will work best for you in the long run.  I am able to help most people in a way that best respects the need for privacy and to have treatment be affordable.

"What forms of payment do you accept?"

For your convenience, I accept cash, check, and major credit cards.

"How do we start?"

Call or email me and we will discuss your concerns and set an appointment for you. I will send or email you a few simple forms and directions. For many people, this first step makes them feel alittle better.

I look forward to speaking you.
