There have been many times in my life when I have been "called" from within to make significant changes in my life - moving across the country, finding my life's work, ending a detrimental relationship. The call for me manifests as a feeling of general discontent, complete with crankiness and complaints. Sometimes it has been difficult to identify what exactly was "wrong" and needed to change. When I have ignored these signs and tried to continue as if nothing were wrong, I found that my irritability grew and I enjoyed my life less and less.  In many people, these can be signs that anxiety, stress or depression may become a more significant problem.

As a mother of two small children, I know it is difficult for many of us to find time to do the things we need to do to maintain our bodies and our minds, let alone feed our souls. Sometimes our endless "to do" lists divert us; sometimes we feel guilty about taking time to ourselves. I also know if we don't, everyone suffers.

We all have times when we just aren't able to be our best, when we have too many daily responsibilities and the fatigue and stress bring out the beast in us. Credentials

I obtained my undergraduate degree at the University of Chicago in 1991 and my Master's of Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara in 1999. In between, I worked in public relations and advertising. I am a Marriage Family Therapist (MFC 40587), licensed in May of 2004 and a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I have counseled hundreds of clients in Orange County from grade-schoolers to seniors in the past ten years.
